About Ganpat Pasu – The man (1899-1920) Ganpat Pasu, a man of humble origins from the Kutch region of Gujarat, travelled to Mumbai, a bustling metropolis that promised opportunity but offered no guarantees. In the face of an unpredictable economic and political landscape, Ganpat Pasu's bold decision to enter the agricultural trading business laid the foundation for what would become a legacy. His foresight and spirit allowed him to establish the business that not only survived but thrived through the decades.

About Khimji Ganpat (1920-1950)

As the business started to grow, Ganpat Pasu brought his eldest son Khimji Ganpat into the fold. At the age of 17, Khimji joined his father and their combined efforts began to shape the Group’s future.

Unfortunately, Khimji Ganpat passed away at the prime age of 35 times.

About Khushalchand Khimji (1950-1988)

Following the untimely passing of Khimji Ganpat, the responsibility of the family business fell on his elder son, Khushalchand Khimji. At just 12 years of age, Khushalchand was called upon by his grandfather to join the business and complete his education in Mumbai.

Despite his age, Khushalchand proved to be a sharp and capable young man., Under his leadership, the business expanded into new markets, introduced new products, and forged strong partnerships. A composed man, Khushalchand was instrumental in building a network that connected farmers, millers, suppliers, brokers, freight forwarders, warehousing facilities, labourers, and others in the supply chain.

The Formation of Khushalchand Khimji & Co. (1988)

After his grandfather's passing, Khushalchand rebranded the company as Khushalchand Khimji & Co. in 1988. While the business evolved, the core values, ethics, and principles that Khushalchand had embraced throughout his life remained unchanged, continuing to guide the company’s philosophy and operations.

This rebranding came at a pivotal moment, as India was on the cusp of economic transformation. The liberalization of the Indian economy in 1991 opened new opportunities and markets, and Khushalchand Khimji & Co was well-positioned to seize them.

The Two Brothers (1988-2024)

As the Khushalchand established the new brand, his two sons, Hemant Shah and Sanjiv Shah, joined the company.
